Walking in a Pink Wonderland

This cake was created for a little girl that was having a VERY special day, not only was she turning 2 (which is a pretty big thing) but her family was also celebrating her adoption.
The two tier cake with a tutu layered cupcake was made with a pink winter wonderland theme to match the party decorations.

The Little Monkey Turns One

When my nephew turned one my sister wanted me to make a cake for him that was very simple with a monkey theme.  I used his birthday invitation for the inspiration, I always love coordinating things.

Sparkler Cake

What says patriotic more than fireworks? This pyrotechnic holiday was always my Grandpa's favorite because it also doubled as his birthday. When he was young he was convinced that the fireworks bursting in the nighttime sky were in his honor. Through the years a tradition was born, every year on his birthday cake instead of candles we placed sparklers and sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandpa as the sparklers spit their light and ashes over the soft frosting. This year Grandpa's Snickerdoodle cake was dressed up with red and white stars and a shower of edible sparkles shooting up from the center of the cake. Happy Birthday Grandpa we miss you.

Shopping is a Passion

This cake was made for a true shop-aholic!  The city-scape style shopping bags that circle around this two teir cake are finished off with a lovely lady in red who is ready to shop till she drops.

Cowboy For Life

This cake was made for a real honest to goodness cowboy who has spent the past 60 years working his farm.

All decorations are handmade and edible on this two teir cake.

Aces To You

This cake was made for a guy who loved his card games.   He and his sisters would get together every Thursday and play cards until 2:00 in the morning.  This was a very fun cake to make!

Princess And The Pea

My youngest daughter, Emma, was given the nickname "Princess Emma" when she was very young, this was inspired by a very imaginative book trilogy that we read called "The Frog Princess" by E.D. Baker (highly recommend it). The star in these cute books is Princess Emma who has red hair that was the same shade as my daughters when she was about 9 months old, so the nickname stuck.

When Emma turned 2 I really wanted to run with the princess theme, we had decided to get her a big girl bed for her birthday and so the wheels in my brain started to turn and I came up with a fun theme for her party: The Princess And The Pea...
